"Headhunter has just one job: taking out enemy heroes. As her other job, she works at the village apothecary. She's lightweight enough to jump over walls and her poisoned weapons make her targets move and attack slower."
Headhunter is a Clash of Clans troop that can be trained with Dark Elixir.
She is unlocked by upgrading a Dark Barrack to level 9, which requires a Town Hall level 12. This troop was added in the Summer 2020 update.
The Headhunter is a female assassin with a very specific task on the game: kill Heroes!
Using 6 Housing Spaces, she is a mid-health Dark Elixir troop that throws deadly cards on her a ranged attack, capable of targeting ground and air units.
The Headhunter features some special abilities that will make her very special:
The Headhunter is a support troop that should not be used alone. With 440 Hitpoints, she will be easily killed by the defenses if unprotected by stronger troops.
Since she targets Heroes, she will skip all other buildings, including defenses, and run to the nearest Hero. This makes her deployment very different from all other troops: before releasing her on the battlefield, search for the Heroes.
On 1vs1 against Heroes, she will have a hard time killing them even though she makes 4x damage on them. You need around 5 or more Headhunter to kill each Hero, not the best deal.
This leaves us with a very specific use: support your current army in killing the Heroes. Her Poison skill with the ability to decrease the attack and movement speed are what really matters here. As long the Headhunter stays alive, she will make a huge effect on enemy Heroes helping your army to kill them.
The Grand Warden is a Hero troop on the attack, but while defending he turns into a statue that is considered a defense building.
He is targeted by troops with a preferred target of buildings, such as Golems, Balloons and Giants.
For this reason, the Headhunters will ignore the Grand Warden until all other Heroes have been killed when attacking it.
If you are using Headhunters as a Clan Castle troop to protect your village, they will target the Grand Warden on both Air or Ground Mode.
The Headhunter is available on Town Hall 12 and higher.
To unlock it you must upgrade your Dark Barrack to level 9.
Upgrading this troop increases DPS and Hitpoints, but whats really matters is the Speed Decrease and Attack Rate Decrease.
As you upgrade her poison deadly cards get even better. A level 3 Headhunter (currently the max level) can decrease to speed movement of Heroes by 44% and the attack speed by 65%. This is a huge deal.
