Giant is a Clash of Clans troop that can be trained with Elixir.
He is unlocked by upgrading a Barrack to level 3, which requires a Town Hall level 1.
Giant is a medium health and medium damage melee unit.
Unlocked really early on the game, he is the first "tank" troop that can be effectively used.
His preferred target is defensive buildings, so he will bypass other buildings and will not attack enemy Clan Castle troops.
Since Giants are the third troop unlocked on the game, it is mostly used on low-level attacks.
They are usually used in large groups to completely tank enemy defenses.
He is a great troop to understand how high-level ground attacks work. Giants must always lead the attack while Archers, Barbarians, and Wizard stay behind them destroying all buildings.
The idea is to use a troop with a huge amount of health as a "meat shield" while other weaker troops, but with more damage, do all the destruction.
This is the same system that is used on high-level ground attacks, but with better troops, such as Golems, Bowlers, and Archer Queen.
Giants are one of the few troops that can actually work with Healers. However, the trick here is to plan an attack where the Healers will stay out of the range of Air Defenses, otherwise, they will be easily shot down.
Giants are also a great troop to distract enemy defenses while deploying Wall Breakers.
