Air Sweeper Explained
The Air Sweeper is a very unique and effective defensive building that protects your village against air attacks.
This building and Walls are the only defenses on the game that don't do any damage. The Air Sweeper simply blows air on air troops pushing them away from their targets, making them stop the attack for a few seconds until they reposition.
The blast of air has a 120º radius and its direction must be configured manually. It's usually a good idea to aim them on Air Defenses, the most common target of air units.
Range
Air Sweeper has a range of 1-15 on a 120º radius.
Even though it's quite small, it has a 1 tile dead-zone around. Once a Balloon reaches this defense and stays on top of it, it will no longer be pushed.
Upgrading Air Sweepers
The range of the Air Sweeper is the same on all levels, but how far it pushes enemy troops increases as you upgrade it. This is the "push strength" and can reach 4 tiles on a level 7 Air Sweeper.
Bigger push strength means the enemy troop will take longer to come back to its original position, giving the defenses more time to destroy them.
Tips & Tricks
Air Sweeper can be fatal against Electro Dragon. This troop has a very slow fire rate, so it takes a few seconds to charge its attack. This charge is so slow that the Air Sweeper can prevent the Electro Dragon from attacking at all! To fix this situation, the attacker must use Haste Spell, Rage Spell or Freeze Spell, otherwise he will lose the Electro Dragon.
The Air Sweeper can be very annoying to the Queen Walk. Even though it can't target ground troops and the Archer Queen will not be affected, the Air Sweeper will push the Healers away from the Queen, stopping the healing for a few seconds. This can force the enemy to waste a Rage Spell to increase the Healers' speed and heal rate.
Always aim the Air Sweepers in opposite directions. Having both Air Sweepers close together, pushing in the same direction, is not very effective.
It's a good idea to protect Air Defenses with the Air Sweeper. There is no cap of how many troops it can push, so this defense can affect hordes of Balloons with a single push.
When attacking with air units, always check the Air Sweeper position prior to the attack. Face them directly with Balloons and Electro Dragons it's pretty difficult. Since the Air Sweeper only blows air in one direction, you can plan your attack to destroy them from behind.
