Hidden Tesla Explained
The Hidden Tesla is a hidden defensive building capable of targeting air and ground troops.
Similar to traps, the enemy can only see then until they are activated.
To activate the Hidden Tesla, the enemy must get a troop within its range or achieve 51% of destruction.
This is the only defensive building that doesn't expand your territory, making it similar to decorations and traps. For example, if you place a Hidden Tesla outside the walls the enemy can place a troop on top of it. Placing it inside the walls on a 3x3 area will also leave an open gap inside where enemy troops can be deployed.
However, differently from traps, all Hidden Teslas must be destroyed to achieve 100%.
Range
The Hidden Tesla has a range of 7 tiles. However, the activation range is a bit smaller, 6 tiles.
Upgrading the Hidden Tesla
Upgrading the Hidden Tesla improves its damage and hitpoints.
Tips & Tricks
Hidden Teslas can't be seen by the enemy when he is preparing his attack, so take advantage of the surprise factor.
With moderate damage, the Hidden Tesla is a fairly good defense when unlocked on Town Hall 7. However, it but loses significance as you upgrade your Town Hall and unlock better defenses.
On higher levels, a common solution to make them more powerful is placing them close together. With a 2x2 area, you can place them pretty close, making a huge amount of damage to a small area. This can be fatal even to Queen Walk.
On lower levels, it's a common practice to place Hidden Teslas on the corners to prevent an easy 3-star. The player will not see the Teslas until he reaches 51% and will not have extra troops to deploy on them, so the enemy troops will only move to the Hidden Teslas at the end of the attack. This will take a long time and he might run out of time.
When attacking, always look for empty 2x2 spaces in the village. These spaces are the probable location of Hidden Teslas and Giant Bombs.
