Hog Rider Explained

Hog Rider is a melee troop known for his ability to jump over walls while riding his large hog.

He and the Miner are the only ground troops capable of bypassing walls, regardless of their levels (Hogs and Walls).

He has moderate health, does high damage per second, and is one of the fastest troops on the game.

Targeting only defenses, he can quickly run through all enemy villages destroying its defenses on a well-planned attack.

How to Use Hog Riders

Hog Riders are usually used on mass attacks with over 15 or 20 Hogs.

With moderate health, he is a great troop to be used with the Healing Spell. This is highly recommended, and it's how it's done on most attacks when they are grouped together, making them pretty much invincible while inside the radius of the spell.

Always watch out for double Giant Bombs as they can severely damage all your Hogs at once. Sometimes you can easily predict if there are two Giant Bombs together by looking for big gaps in the village.

Since they target defenses only, they will not attack Heroes and Clan Castle troops, so always watch out for them. It's recommended to only deploy the Hogs after killing them first. Poison Spell can be used to kill the Clan Castle troops, but it might not be fast enough, and the Archer Queen will still be a big threat.

A single Hog Riders is a great troop to be used as a bait and take Clan Castle troops out of the Castle.

On high-quality attacks on Legend League, mass Hogs are usually used on a two-step attack with a big Queen Walk. Since they are quite fast, the attacker can spend more time than usual with the Queen Walk, being able to take down many strong defenses, Heroes and Clan Castle troops.
