However, there were several small changes not announced that came as a surprise. So as we always do here on House of Clashers, lets to find out all the hidden changes from the 2020 Spring Update!
Some of these changes were too small to appear on the Sneak Peeks but were announced on the final patch notes, but we still have some changes that were completely unannounced.
Here are 14 changes that you (probably) didn't know:
For the first time skins are available to be purchased with Gems! This is amazing news for F2P players! However, they are selling the old ones, meaning skins lost their "collectible status" and rarity.
Each Skin for sale costs 1,500 Gems, that's around U$13, almost 3x the Season Pass, so it's a terrible deal if you want to spend real money.
However, you can usually get around 1,500 free gems in 2 months of regular gameplay, so it's reasonably easy to get the skins for free. Excellent to F2P players!
The Quick Train slots are finally complete: now you can add Siege Machines to them as well.
Wrong donations are finally over. Now we can choose specific troops and you can only receive what was asked. However, that's not all. You can limit donations to "only max troops", so you will be able only to receive the troop level you really want.
Introducing Friendly Challenge-specific Clan Castle Troops. Like Legend League, you can request specific Clan Castle troops to this attack. Once they are set they will remain unchanged until you replace them.
When Clash of Clans was released in 2012 the Home Village had an animated waterfall. However, 3 months later it was removed due to performance reasons. Now it's finally back!
Here is a picture of the original waterfall:
The entire background base was changed as well. The trees are slightly different, they look sharper and their color is a bit different. Is this another sign that we will get base "skins" in the near future?
Now the Push Notification displays the name of the base. Very useful when playing with several accounts on the same device using Supercell ID.
Two new practice attacks were added. One is the Yeti Smash, quite popular and strong. The other one is the first Town Hall 13 attack, the Hog + Miners attack. This is a pro attack, very cool to see it here to practice.
The screen shakes during gameplay on several occasions. For example, when a Hero dies and the splash from Eagle Artillery. Now there is an option to turn this visual effect off.
The size of the border was increased to 4 tiles. An extra tile was added outside the base. However, right now this is only a visual change, this new tile can't be used to place decorations.
Here is the old border so you can see the difference:
For the first time Season Challenges is rewarding Builder Base Gold and Elixir on the Free Tier! However, the Free Tier is still offering the same number of rewards, 15. To give Builder Base resources, the Home Village is getting fewer rewards.
Free Tier changes:
• Potions were reduced from 4 to 2
• Dark Elixir reduced from 30,000 to 15,000.
• Home Village Gold/Elixir reduced from 3m to 1.5m
• Added 2,400,000 Builder Gold and Builder Elixir
Now when the game is on Maintenance Break, you have access to the in-game News page to find out what is going on.
When claiming rewards from Clan Games, if you do not have enough storage space for the claimed item you will be given the option to select Gems instead. The number of Gems received is based on the normal price the specific item sells for.
To help combat spying during the Clan War League seasons, players not on the roster or without a role in the Clan may not see the War League screen.
