Inferno Tower
Set the Inferno Tower's Dark Elixir fueled flame to build up unbelievable damage to single targets, or to constantly roast multiple targets at once.
Inferno Tower is a multi-target or single-target defensive building fueled by Dark Elixir.
Unlocked on Town Hall 10, it was added to the game in 2013 with this new Town Hall level.
Inferno Tower Explained
Shooting jets of flame on enemy troops, the Inferno Tower is one of the most feared defenses on the game.
The Inferno Tower can be configured as a single or multi-target defense.
This defense doesn't have any preferred target and will always target the closest troop.
This defense is reloaded every time the user logs into the game, so it becomes "dead" on Inactive Bases.
Multi-Target
In this mode the Inferno Tower can target up to 5 enemy units at the same time, dealing constant damage to all of them.
This mode is great against mass attacks and low HP units: Witches, Wizards, Balloons, Giants and Bowlers. It's amazing against Wall Breakers.
On stronger troops such as Dragons, Electro Dragons, Golems and Heroes, it is less effective. It has the advantage of targeting 5 units but will take a while to destroy them.
The problem: the low damage of the multi-target is almost useless against “tank†units such as Lava Hounds and Golems. However, it will still target 5 units at the same time, so unless you get a mass Golem attack (ouch, but they are cool), the Inferno Tower will still target and damage the weaker enemy units.
This configuration is also very effective against the Bat Spell that is currently very popular on higher leagues.
Single-Target
The highest DPS of the game is here, the single-target Inferno Tower!
Capable of targeting only a single unit at a time, the single-mode starts with a very low DPS (same as multi-target), but with time it will "heat" and increase the damage to that unit.
A level 7 Inferno Tower has initial damage of only 93. After 1.5 seconds the damage increases to 255. After 5.25 seconds the damage increases to 3,300! This is the highest DPS of the game, capable of killing Heroes, Golems, and Lavas in seconds.
Sounds amazing, but has a few problems. The first one: the Inferno can be reset with the use of a Freeze Spell. Not only the Inferno will have to “heat up†again, but it may also target a different unit when the Freeze is over.
When attacking a single-mode Inferno Tower, always save a Freeze Spell in case it targets your Barbarian King. Since he likes to lead the attack, especially after using the Iron Fist ability, it’s common to be the first unit targeted by the Inferno. When targeting the Archer Queen, the Royal Cloak Ability will also force the Inferno to refocus on a different unit, usually the cheap Archers the Queen summoned.
Now the big problem: against mass units the single-mode Inferno is almost useless because it has an initial DPS similar to an Archer Tower! When the enemy sees all three single-mode Infernos, especially on Clan Wars, he will prepare a mass unit attack and you will get in trouble, or might use the Bat Spell to make it useless. Yes, it will happen.
Range
The range of the Inferno Tower changes depending on the configuration.
The single-target Inferno Tower has a range of os 9 tiles. The multi-target has a slightly bigger range, 10 tiles.
